New York: Alexander Ming (Successor to Hugh Gaine), 1806. Full Leather. Good binding. Octavo, first portion unpaginated [432 (octavo sections signed A-DD)], 230 (Psalms), [2] pp. Contemporary binding in full maroon goat with spine tooled in gold and decorative border around the perimeters of the covers. Large gouge to the leather on the front cover has been glued down; general wear to the binding; sunken a bit. Contemporary owner name, Mary Richardson on the front free endpaper; foxing and toning throughout. All in all, and despite the wear, it remains a stately copy of a fairly early American edition of the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, first printed in the United States in 1789.

Otherwise, pages bright and clean and free of marking, soiling and staining. Bound in publisher's red cloth with blindstamped crosses and "Prayer" to boards, and gilt "Prayer" to spine. Cover lightly worn. A nice clean copy of the American 1928 BCP, notable as a gift of the Bishop White Prayer Book Society, "affiliated with the Female Protestant Episcopal Prayer Book Society of Pennsylvania.

An excellent copy of the second major edition (1892) of the American Prayer Book.
