A very good black leather binding over thick boards, with two outer-corner brass clasps and hasps (in working order). Also, elaborate brass initials: "I.H.S." to front board. Hinges carefully strengthened. Spine with 4 raised bands and dulled gilt title: "Common Prayer". All page edges bright gilt. Marbled endpapers. Large armorial bookplate to front endpaper: "Gerald Chippindale Rivington". Engraved title-page, followed by a printed title-page in red & black. Plus further 6 engraved title-pages to each section. Each page of text in red & black with an ornate decorated border.
