size=5>THE BOOK, 1827 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). Nice leather bound copy of this French play by Lally Tollendal, Gerard de Trophime. Prepared in secret by the three children of Lady Francis Wedderburn and performed in the Theatre at L'hotel de Noailles in October 1927. This is the author's presentation copy inscribed on the half title page; To her Excellency Lady Stuart of Rothsay, Englis Embassadress to the Court of France, respectful hommage, From the author. The original blue paper covers are bound to the front of the book. Condition: The binding is tight and firm and both covers are firmly attached. There is some minor wear to the extremities. Internally the book is generally clean and bright apart from the occasional mild spot and some slight background staining to thetop ofsome pages including the title pages. There is a small closed tear to the top of the dedication page. Any questions, just ask. Please note: Occasionally different photographs will show pages of the book as different shades of white. This is due to the automatic white balance on the camera for different shots, and it is safe to assume all pages are the same tone unless stated otherwise above.
