The Roycrofters, 1903. Book. Very Good. Slipcase. Handsomely bound book from the arts & crafts publisher The Roycrofters. Printed on thick paper with red capital letters. Endpapers are moire satin with covers in suede leather. Leather was once green but has faded to a tan at edges and spine. Binding has pulled at front joint, but is holding well. Tears to leather at upper spine and lower corner. Ribbon marker is present, but loose from binding. .

Top and bottom of page is trimmed.

London: Constable and Company, 1913. Hardback reprint of translation first published in 1892. Some slight wear to covers and two previous owners' names on front endpage. Otherwise this is in VG condition for a book of its age. No DW. The table of contents in the front lists titles in German only, but their English counterparts are listed in the index at the end. An invaluable guide to understanding Heine's lyrics which have been set to music by so many famous composers of Lieder. For any German speakers a companion volume to this is ref. 1158. .
