Ex-Library copy, with expected inserts and inscriptions. No front free endpaper. Frontispiece art coloured in. Light foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and rear free endpaper. Light cracking and creasing to gutters; some slight looseness to binding. Pencil scribbles to gutter of page 30; text unaffected. Upper text block edge water stained, occasional marginal stains but text is unaffected. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear. Spine has soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt is bright. Unclipped, laminated dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall. Some sunning in places. Library sticker to spine.
Synopsis
The Book of Three is the first of Lloyd Alexander's five-part novel series The Chronicles of Prydain. Inspired by Welsh mythology, it follows the adventures of Taran, a boy in the care of the enchanter Dallben, as he enters manhood while fighting the forces of the evil Arawn Death-Lord.
