About This Item

UK,12mo p/back,1st edn thus. [First published USA,Mysterious Press/Warner Books,Inc.,1996. Complete number line 9 - 1 descending.] NMINT. Wrapped+ protected and stored from day of issue/purchase,so NO shelf-wear, NO owner inscrptn, and NO reading creases to spine or to pages' corners - unread apart from my own collation. Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,matt,wrap-around orange background with montage'd monochrome photographic illustrated card covers with capitalised white-lettered book title and author's capitalised, black-lettered name,a critic's black-lettered review and publisher's name in a rectangular panel at front cover's front lower corner.A flat,crease-free spine/backstrip with similarly coloured+lettered title+author name as the front's and publisher's black-lettered name and black illustrated colophon together in a reactangular panel at foot of same, rear cover with 2 critics' reviews, one along the top edge, the other along the lower edge and in between,a black-lettered synopsis.Top+fore-edges despite wrapping, have minimal, light ageing/toning but no blemishes or foxing/spotting; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages corners. UK,12mo p/back,1st edn thus,2-320pp [paginated] includes Pts 1- 6 without chapter numeration; plus [unpaginated] half-title with author's potted biography and 4 critics' reviews of title with author's 5 previous titles listed to its reverse,a title page,a dedication, author's note - both with a blank verso, and a conversation with C. W. Sughrue extract, also with a blank verso and individual Pts separator pages, and to the rear,4pp blanks. Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional and particularly internally,is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of its 25+ year-old age [and nature, i.e an ephemeral paperback issue. It is only the age-acquired fault described that prevents a slightly higher grade of MINT.Despite that, it really is still an exceptional, exemplary example for its cleanliness, brightness and lack of detracting faults commonly associated with a decades old paperback.
US writer - with a cult following,in the style of CHANDLER and ROSS MacDONALD.His sixth book. Someone gut-shot Sughrue in New Mexico and left him to live with his demons, running naked in the blood-red desert sunset and loving the only woman who has ever managed to love him.Someone took all the money in Milodragovitch's daddy's will, leaving Milo with just a two-thousand-dollar Italian silk suit and a Cadillac El Dorado and a hard-on for retribution. Now,Sughrue and Milodragovitch, two of the most hard-bitten cases the West ever produced, have come together in El Paso for a death trip across a country called Texas,to a state of mind called revenge.
