About This Item

UK,8vo,original wraps,Uncorrected Book Proof. [Often of limited availability, the text of a forthcoming book,is printed and bound in softcovers for use by the author, editors, proofreaders and some favoured reviewers. For undecorated printed wraps, with minimal publication data imprinted - the produced/released number of copies would almost certainly be less than 500,and most probably would tend to be around 200 copies. For glossy pictorial illustrated wrappers, produced numbers are often higher than 200,but either have a scarcity to them.Often errors or earlier versions of text appear in these proofs.Versions where the text has changed considerably are obviously considered more desirable by their nature.] MINT - unread.Wrapped+ protected and stored from day of distribution,so NO owner inscrptn,NO reading creases to spine or pages' corners, unread other than my own collation.
Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,wrap-around matt RAF blue backgroundpaper covers with small capitalised,black-lettered book title and author's name to front's top edge, and larger capitalised,black-lettered New York Times Book Review (also capitalised in small black lettering) over the front cover,a flat, reading crease-free spine/backstrip with similar coloured+lettered author name and book title as the front's and publisher's black-lettered name and black illustrated colophon to foot of same, the rear cover with 2 critics' [Literary Review and Daily Telegraph] black-lettered reviews,black-lettered synopsis, two further reviews, one for 'The Mexican Tree Duck' title, the other a TLS review of his writing style; plus publisher's promotional information and to the narrow black band to rear cover's lower edge, with RAF blue-lettered Publication date,ISBN and price. Negligible shelf-wear with no crease to edges and corners - no nicks, tears or splits present.Top+fore-edges exceptionally bright, crisp and clean without ageing/toning, blemish or any foxing/spotting - virtually pristine and as new,as are the contents - with no dog-ear reading creeases to any pages' corners, unread other than my own collation.UK,8vo wraps, Uncorrected Book Proof,2-320pp [paginated] includes Pts 1-6 without chapter numeration; plus [unpaginated] half-title with publisher note and story synopsis with author's 5 previous titles listed to its reverse,a title page,a dedication, author's note - both with a blank verso, and a conversation with C. W. Sughruet extract.
Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional and particularly internally,is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of its 25+ year-old age and nature, i.e an ephemeral paperback Proof copy. It really is an exceptional, exemplary example for its cleanliness, brightness and lack of detracting faults commonly associated with a decades old paperback.
US writer - with a cult following,in the style of CHANDLER and ROSS MacDONALD.His sixth book. Someone gut-shot Sughrue in New Mexico and left him to live with his demons, running naked in the blood-red desert sunset and loving the only woman who has ever managed to love him.Someone took all the money in Milodragovitch's daddy's will, leaving Milo with just a two-thousand-dollar Italian silk suit and a Cadillac El Dorado and a hard-on for retribution. Now,Sughrue and Milodragovitch, two of the most hard-bitten cases the West ever produced, have come together in El Paso for a death trip across a country called Texas,to a state of mind called revenge.
