DJ: VG; chipping and closed tears along top edge of cover; archival tape repairs to several areas. Red cloth boards and spine with gilt lettering on spine and front board with Indian drawing in gilt. 421 pp. 4ov. Written by a Michigander who first saw Boulder in 1915 on the back of a motorcycle and who later pioneered mental health services in the state. This book depicts Boulder against a backdrop of American History. It is concerned primarily with the first fifty years of Boulder, and its University, inevitably intertwined with the early decades of Denver's history, and accounts of the trails, the Indians and the stage coaches, as well as mining. A clean and very presentable copy in Brodart mylar.
