About This Item

Collins,. Hardback. 206pp. First edition. Illustrated throughout by Lewis' own youthful work. This book presents the best of the Boxen stories, retaining the original illustrations and the idiosyncratic spelling. It also contains the Encyclopedia Boxonia, in which the adult Lewis looks back at his earlier creation. Introductory essay by Walter Hooper putting Lewis' juvenilia in context. Coffee type splash to front of dust wrapper which is also slightly faded to the spine with a short tear and some creasing. Brown boards with gilt titles are very clean and neat. Some waviness to the pages as though the book has been in a damp environment. Faint marks to closed page edges. Text is clean. Good+, sound copy in good dust wrapper . Hardback. First Edition. 1985.
