Small faint stain on top corner of front cover, otherwise in fine condition./No dust jacket as issued.. In 1906 a citizens' committee in Monroe, Michigan and the Michigan Cavalry Brigade Association, independently and almost simultaneously, began drives to interest the Michigan Legislature in erecting an equestrian monument in General Custer's honor. One group requested that it be placed in Monroe whereas the Cavalry Brigade's committee preferred Lansing. Mrs. Custer preferred the General's home town."
