Some soiling to the covers, usual toning to the pages, corners slightly bumped, but the binding is tight, hinges unbroken. . First edition. A series probably inspired by the success of the Tom Swift books, this features two young teenage boys, who have already invented many devices before the series even opens - In this volume, "The restless, inventive spirit of Jack Chadwick and the persistent enthusiasm of his cousin, Tom Jesson, once more clamor for a new expression, and this book describes the unique result of their labors and the use to which it is opportunely put." Illustrated with a glossy frontispiece and three inserted plates on plain paper by Charles Wrenn.Lists to #3 in the ads at the back of the book. 292 pp plus 22 pp publisher's ads.
