Description: This contains selections from children's classics that portray a particular child. Each story is accompanied by a full page color plate by Jessie Willcox Smith. The children shown in the story selections are David Copperfield (this picture is used as the frontis), Alice (this plate is duplicated as the cover art), the March girls from Little Women, Jackanapes, Tiny Tim, Hans Brinker, The Little Lame Prince, Heidi, Mowgli, Little Nell, and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.
