About This Item
London; (1952): Hodder & Stoughton. First Edition. Small Octavo. 256 pages. The seventeenth Miss Silver mystery. The author had created a character who though on the outside appeared to be an old woman somehow outwitted the best of the local police. This is the story of Lewis Brading's brooch with five perfectly matched brilliants of five carats but soon to be found in blood. Bound in red cloth, lettered and decorated in black, near the bottom edge there is a thin black line fron fron to back(from old black rimmed dust jacket protector) In unclipped dust jacket with a few nicks and a couple of tiny closed edge tears. A very good copy.
