Hardcover. sm4to. 25cm, xii,200,(4)pp., ads., frontis with tissue guard, 170 sketch illustrations, colour map plate, a.e.g., in the original dark green cloth, gilt and black stamped titles on the spine and upper cover, bevelled boards, t.e.g., some light foxing, private library paper label on the spine removed, gravure bookplate, some slight edge wear and some slight fade speckling (re touched) else good to very good sound copy (tr). ~ "The following notes were made during three summer tours of Brittany, in two of which the Author was accompanied by the Artist. sketches made on the spot. have the curious merit of truth.". (Preface). A copy from the library of American author, Louise Chandler Moulton with her decorated Pomfret Library bookplate (with photographic portrait).
