Front board very slightly bowed. On the bottom of the spine, in gilt letters, the name of the prior owner who had this bound, Murdo J. MacLeod (b. 1935), a Scottish historian of Latin America, who published extensively on the history of colonial-era Central America, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic world. MacLeod's ink signature to the top margin of the blank front free-endpaper. Half-inch stain to top of title page. Fraying to the end of the ribbon marker.
