About This Item

London: Booth-Clibborn Editions, 2012. 1st edition. Paperback. Quarto. Decorated Solander box containing 2 paperback books, 9 posters and a CD. A collaboration between British fashion designers and contemporary artists, the results exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum in July 2012 as part of the cultural programme for the London Olympic Games. Book One is 147 pages of mostly colour photographs, a Foreword by Lucy Yeomans and an essay on the links between fashion and art by Iain R. Webb. Book Two is 56 pages of b&w photographs by Gautier Deblonde, with a Curator's Note by Susanna Greeves. The posters are printed in colour on half chart paper (56 x 39.8 cm). The designers/artists involved are: Hussein Chalayan/Gavin Turk; Giles Deacon/Jeremy Deller; Stephen Jones/Cerith Wyn Evans; Mary Katrantzou/Mark Titchner; Nicholas Kirkwood/Simon Periton; Peter Pilotto/Francis Upritchard; Jonathan Saunders/Jess Flood Paddock; Paul Smith/Charming Baker; Matthew Williamson/Mat Collishaw. Attached to the inside of the box lid, finally, is a CD audio recording of Chalayan and Turk's "Four Minute Mile". Both books and 8 of the posters are in Very Good condition - the exception being the Katrantzou/Titchner, which is Good because of a curl along its central fold. The box is also Good, with obvious wear to its edges and corners, creased and scuffed spine folds and several marks on its faces.
