Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co. Book. Good. Original Blue Decorated Cloth. Three Books. C. 1880's. Battles range from Battle of Hastings 1066 to the Battle of Amoaful 1874. Volume I - Contents very good , slight foxing and creasing to spine, cover corners rubbed. Volume II - Contents very good, slight creasing and foxing, boards slightly detached from hinge, corners and spine rubbed, top and bottom of spine frayed. Volume III - contents very good, slight creasing and foxing/soiling, cloth corners and spine are rubbed, cloth split from spine 4" and 1" from the top, slight soiling to back. Volume I has 576pp. Volume II has 576pp. Volume III has 579. Hundreds of woodcut illustrations. Probable first edition..
