Hardback small, good plus condition, thick card covers, orange cloth spine (little faded), black & white drawings, colour diagrams, charts, light foxing few pages, pages lightly toned, rear cover lightly marked, minor edgewear covers, spine ends slightly rubbed & scuffed, sticker front cover, owner's written name & date inside front cover 148 pp. Ninth edition. This reference book contains important information needed to assume control of a vessel as upon its practical application depends in a large measure the safety of life and property. The purpose is to promote careful study and observation. This manual has for many years served as a guide to the examinations for the various grades of certificates of Competency formerly held by Authority of the Board of Trade and at present conducted by the Ministry of War Transport. It is specially suitable for study at sea, the sequence of matter being arranged for that purpose, and the diagrams, questions and answers will be found most helpful and informative.
