Description:
Empire Book Company, New York, 1908. Acceptable. First ed., first printing; 259 p., clean and completely unmarked--not ex-lib., no former owner's signature or plate; wonderful period photos and pen and ink vignettes; photo of Buffalo Bill on front board with still plain gilt lettering; oliver drab b oards scuffed and bumped and gutters cracked; this volume would greatly reward rebinding; and volume needs rebinding. The one serious flaw is the tearing in half of frontis. photo and tissue guard by someone ham-fisted. Fortunately no attempt at repair has been made, so it could be done competently by a professional. Possible signed inscription by Cody on that page, which would greatly increase value, but unless he wrote with very light pressure this is proabably a very good auto-pen deception.

Description:
NY: Empire Book Co.. Good with no dust jacket. 1908. First Edition. Decorated Cloth. Well, there is good news, and there is bad news. First the good: this is the true first edition. the Cupples & Leon imprint is the second edition, despite what some folks seem to think. Now the bad news: a dog. The upper front corner of the book has been chewed, damaging an area about 1" by 1". There are a couple of smaller tooth marks on the top of the front cover, and to the first few pages. The book would otherwise have been "very fine." I alway say "you find them the way you fine them," and this is a prime example. Hopefully they euthanized the dog, but that is probably too much to hope for. Yes, I like dogs, or at least some dogs.; Hardcover; 5 1/2 x 8" .
