Green coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed decoration to the front panel and gilt coloured titles and self embossed decoration to the backstrip. Gilt to the top text edge. 18 short stories inspired by The Walrus and the Carpenter from Alice in Wonderland. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges and rubbing of the book corners. Marks and stains to the book panels. Tanning and staining of the textblock edges with age toning of the pages. The free front end page has been removed! Synopsis
They will tell you in Anchuria, that President Miraflores, of that volatile republic, died by his own hand in the coast town of Coralio; that he had reached thus far in flight from the inconveniences of an imminent revolution; and that one hundred thousand dollars, government funds, which he carried with him in an American leather valise as a souvenir of his tempestuous administration, was never afterward recovered.
