Blackie and Son, 1853. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Scarce. Folio, in 20th century(?) half-leather binding in very good condition. Internally clean, a few handling marks, some light foxing to a few of the plates, all plates present. Frontispiece plate has been bound within book. Vertical creases to first few pages. Half-title, engraved title-page, [iii]-viii, lxxx, 60p (Practical Observations on Cabinet Making), 63p (Description of the Plates) + 101 plates. Measures 37cm. x 28cm. x 5cm. The present work was reprinted in 1970, with title of "The Victorian cabinet-maker's assistant". Very heavy book which will incur extra overseas shipping costs.
