Blue cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on spine and front board. 227 pp 8vo. One of the greatest soldiers America has ever produced. He held many prominent positions in his career; Superintendent of West Point, Secretary to General Staff of the War Department, American Expeditionary Force in Siberia in WWI, commander of the I Corps and 8th ARmy, he fought the Japanese in the Pacific, invaded Luzon, helped recapture many Philippine Islands and was a major part of Operation Coronet- the invasion of Japan. This book uses only the general's papers and tries to explain his lack of military recognition for his achievements. A clean pristine copy.
