The delicately engraved illustrations include images depicting mythological figures such as El Año, La Primavera, El Estio, El Invierno, the grotto at Cacahuamilpa in Guerrero, the sanctuary of Guadalupe, and three vibrantly colored fashion plates. Accompanying texts describe the sites depicted, as well as hand crafts and embroidery, the cultivation of flowers, various poems, dramas and tales, fashion advice, and a register of ecclesiastical festivals and saints' days.The Mariano almanacs are scarce, rarely appearing in the marketplace. As of June 2021, OCLC locates only four holdings of the 1838 edition in North America.
