Oakland: Biobooks Book. Very Good. Hardcover. (1945). First Edition thus, 4to, v, 161pp, boards. Limited to 1500 copies. Number four in the California Centennial Editions. Very light wear, else VG+ in VG+ dj. The best account of the Donner Tragedy which first appeared in 1849 in Thornton's book OREGON AND CALIFORNIA IN 1848, which is Number 74 in the ZAMORANO EIGHTY. Thornton relied heavily on his interviews with William Eddy while the latter's mind was still fresh from the incidents and scenes in the mountains..
