New York: Random House, 1961. 2nd Printing . Cloth with Dustjacket. The musical play based on the King Arthur legend that starred Julie Andrews & Richard Burton. Illustrated with 3 photographs + 1 plate tipped on to the front cover. The musical was nominated for several Tony awards (but not best musical) and Richard Burton won for actor in a musical. Made into a bloated but beautiful looking film in 1967 that did poorly at the box office but won Oscars for its costumes and art direction. This is a very nice copy with a touch of light chipping to the top and bottom of the spine panel and a tiny tear to the top edge of the back panel of the dustjacket. Price clipped. The white dj. is nice and clean. Laid in is an illustrated 4pg. foldover for the Fireside Book Club edition which this is not. Vg/vg. Also laid in is the original 24pg. theatrical souvernir program with the original cast including Julie Andrews, Richard Burton & Roddy McDowall. Light soiling to the white covers. Vg. Sold as a collection only.
