Paris: Arthus Bertrand, 1853. Book. Very Good. Half-Leather. First Edition. Large 8vo. Volume 5 only; pp. [4], iii, [1], 542, [2]; 4 engraved plates with tissue guards (all present and in accordance with the Tables des Planches; half-title present. 160mm x 245mm. Contemporary quarter black morocco with gilt lettering and decoration to the spine, a little general wear and rubbing, corners bumped and a little more worn. Contents good and tight, original marbled end papers; some scattered foxing, more pronounced to a few gatherings, plates very good with light spotting to edges, no inscriptions, good margins. Overall a very good copy. Volume 5 only of this important 6 volume work..
