Colour illustrated dust jacket. Original publisher's brown cloth with gilt lettering at spine. Ann Shead of Australian origin - came to Britain before WWII and was a producer on BBC radio. She read some of her children's novels on Children's Hour. Inscribed to Victor Sassie, owner of the Gay Hussar restaurant in London: ""Dear Victor, with love from, Ann (Shead). 1969.""
