London: Hodder & Stoughton. 1959. 8vo, pp. 256, b/w frontis port., map, small newspaper clipping taped to title page (author obituary), light foxing scattered throughout, offsetting rear endpapers, original cloth bds., edges rubbed, cnrs a little bumped, in d.j.head and tail spine chipped with minor loss, cnrs worn, few marks. The author, an RNVR lieutenant, was captured by the Germans in Capri, 1943. He masqueraded as an Italian, and spent over a year in captivity, attempting numerous escapes. Cloth Boards.
