H.L. Kilner & Co. , 1890. Hardcover. Acceptable. 93 p., clean and unmarked except for smudges on back end page, and ornate printed certificate affixed to front paste down from Saint Ignatius' Sunday School awarding the book to the first in class on Christian doctrine to former owner, on June 21, 1891. Engraved portrait of Oliver Optic follows and on verso the list of Riverdale Stories "Profusely Illustrated by Billings" published by Lee and Shepard. One assumes the ill. within this volume are also by Billings. Binding is tender, with sewn signatures visible, but volume is square. Green and black lettering and ornamentation, including image of boy with green and black hair, are clear and beige but beige boards have smudging and small white stains; corners lightly bumped, and there is rubbing at edges.
