New York: The Beechhurst Press, 1947. First American edition. Deep blue cloth in original non price-clipped dustjacket. Light soiling to cloth and general age wear and soiling to jacket. Page edges beginning to brown. A very scarce novel, especially in its American printing, by the author of "Out of the Night." Though his fourth book, this is the first work of fiction by the German born author and tells the story of one married couples flight from Europe in 1938, and their impecunious arrival into the United States, scared but full of hope. A near very good copy in worn but good dustjacket.. First Edition. Cloth. Near Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
