"Orrin Augustine White (1883-1969) was a California Plein-Air Painter who was known for his poetic depictions of the San Gabriel Mountains. His paintings of the 1920s and 1930s possessed the same qualities that are seen in the works of his Pasadena neighbors, Elmer and Marion Wachtel, an awareness of atmosphere and a sinuous quality of line that is reminiscent of Art Nouveau."
