One of the most prized collections of Shakespeare and his world formed in the 19th century.  George Daniel was a satirical poet and editor of John Cumberland's series entitled, British Theatre, with Renmarks Biographical and Critical.  Daniel became a friend of Charles and Mary Lamb, his neighbors in Islington and a regular in the theater world of London during the middle years of the 19th century.  He wrote a number of comic opera, but is best remembered for the collection of Shakespeare and Elizabethan literature he formed.
