Catalogue of the library of Latimer Clark, of London, purchased in 1901 by Schuyler Skaats Wheeler, and presented by him to the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. The library of the institute was consolidated in 1909 with the libraries of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Institute of Mining Engineers to form the Engineering Societies Library Wheeler gift of books, pamphlets, and periodicals .This is the key bibliographical reference in its field. This important collection contains "practically every known publication in the English Language previous to 1886, on magnetism, electricity, galvanism, the lodestone, mariner's compass, etc.." including many great rarities. Includes books, periodicals, trade catalogues and pamphlets, telegraph company prospectuses, etc. Entries are carefully annotated.
