From the dust jacket: "The objective of this book is to examine critically the view of cancer as a disorder of cell differentiation. A number of cell types originating at various stages of differentiation have been considered, including germ cell tumors, central nervous system tumors, and tumors of the hemopoietic system. A separate section of the book is devoted to considerations of the control of differentiation and neoplasia. Particular emphasis is placed on the molecular mechanisms of gene expression and the applications of techniques of molecular biology to the study of the differentiation process.".
