Dominique Viglino. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1955. First Edition. Binder w loose leaf. One of 304 numbered copies, this is No. 109, on handmade Laga paper with the final state of single-panel and centerfold illustrations by Josso (only Nos. 71 to 300 featured the final state illus.), tissue guards intact. Loose folio leaves folded horizontally once, bound in original folders and then in stiff boards and backing, with ribbon marker and housed in faux leather paper slipcase. Produced by Robert Leger and Pierre de Tartas, art editor at the Rue des Seguier in Paris, and aid from the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor, and typography by Dominique Viglino. Articles on the Legion by Jules Renaud, Wilfrid Baumgartner, Leon Binet, Maurice Genevoix, Edouard Herriot, Alphonse Juin, Carl le Coq de Kerland, Pierre Ricard, The Ambassador of France, and Georges d'Heylli. Published on the occasion of the 150 year anniversary of the Legion of Honor, and a project began in 1952. Presumably made for members or close associates of the Legion. Moderate toning and light rubbing, dampstain at the crown, and slipcase with moderate rubbing. International shipping billed at cost. ; Folio 13" - 23" tall .
