DESCRIPTION
(ii) + xvi + 378pp + (ii)
Book measures 200mm x 130mm approximately.
A lovely contemporary binding in full dark calf. Spine with five gilt-ruled raised bands with classical gilt motifs central to gilt-boxed compartments, and gilt-boxed maroon title label. Single gilt fillet border to both boards. Engraving to title page verso.
CONDITION
The binding is holding very firm. The binding retains a beautiful rich lustre. Boards and spine show a few marks, surface scratches and the odd dent and chip to edges, with a few mild darkening patches. Light wear to head and foot of spine with minor rubbing to hinges.
Internally the pages are generally clean although uniformly toned throughout and slightly heavier to rear quarter of book. Some marks, ragged edges and spots to the paste-downs and end-papers which also have marginal staining. A very small hole (2mm diameter) to top of front end-paper above a very old neat ink signature (Eliza Brown).

We are always happy to provide further photo images if required.
