Aberdeen, Scotland: Private Press (The Aberdeen University Press), 1941. 55pp., b/white halftone plate portrait of each author. Edition limited to 50 copies, of which this is hand-numbered '48'. Booklet clean and square. Card wrapper mildly soiled and bumped. Leaves clean, text-block bumped (as wrapper) on upper foredge corner. Intext statistical tables and expenditure for Aberdeen (Scotland) in 1938. "A brief survey of the progress of the City of Aberdeen during the last hundred years is given in the two papers which are here reprinted from the Transactions of the Aberdeen Philosophical Society. The first paper, entitled 'Fifty Years' Progress in Aberdeen' was communicated to the Society on April 1, 1900, by Mr William Watt, of the 'Aberdeen Free Press'; and the second, on October 20, 1938, by his son, Lord Provost Edward W. Watt, who, as president of the Society, read it at the opening meeting of the Hundredth Session." Minor value point: Included loose with book is a printed 'With Compliments' slip from Dr. Edward W. Watt, with a printed date of December, 1941, which is in undamaged condition. There is no dustjacket supplied. Booklet weight approx. 130g.
