Oblong format hardcover, bound in black cloth covered boards, issued without a dustjacket, and cased in an illustrated paper covered board slipcase. Slipcase has some significant wear to the edges, with a few small breaks at the extremities. Spine of the book has some sunning and wear, along with some light rubbing to the covers. Pages 345-348 have been creased at the corners. Otherwise, the binding remains tight and solid, with no internal markings. Texts in English, and lavishly illustrated with over 500 reproductions..
