Volume 4 has foxing to block and lightly throughout). 4 Volume set. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering and four raised bands on spine. Volumes 1-3 are all edge gilt with white silk end pages. Volume 4 has marble decorative end pages. Volume 1-3 unpaginated and profusely illustrated in bw. Volume 4; XXVII, 221, (2) pp. illustrated in bw throughout. Text in French. Contents for each volume: I: Chants guerriers et patriotiques ; Chansons bachiques. II: Chansons et chansonnettes ; Chansons burlesques et satiriques. III: Chansons choisies ; Romances ; Rondes et complaintes. IV: Noels ; Chansons de mai ; Ballades ; Chansons de métiers ; Rondes ; Chansons de mariées. We believe volumes 1-3 are reprints from 1860 and volume 4 is a first printing. See photos please. Popular songs from the provinces of France. Notices by Champfleury; piano accompaniment by J.B.
