London: Raphael TUCK & Sons Ltd. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1924. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Chocolate brown cloth-covered boards, with gilt lettering to the spine and front cover. Blind stamped decoration to the upper cover surrounding the bright gilt titling. A little light 'bumping' to the head and tail of the spine, some 'scratches' to the rear cover, but overall the covers are VG. Top edge Gilt. No dustjacket. Internally Very Good. A gift note to a former owner in ink on the front pastedown o/w No other Inscriptions or Marks. With an introduction by Kate Perungini (Charles Dickens' daughter). 146 pp. 30 coloured plates, 2 monochrome portraits and 2 facsimiles. All images, except the facsimiles, with captioned tissue guards. Overall A Very Good to VG Plus, bright, tight, clean copy. Page fore-edges very lightly foxed, but appear clean, otherwise, apart from the scratches to the rear plain cover (see images) this is a very handsome, very clean copy. Extracts from 11 of Dickens books illustrated with all the artistry and understanding of Dicken's characters that the charming illustrations done by Harold Copping show.
