Red boards with gilt title on spine. Light bumping to corners and slight wrinkle on cloth on spine. Top edge trimmed; fore and bottom edge deckle. Front board has very light crack at spine. Tight binding and clean interior. Very good condition.

Cardon's journal documents the early fur trading in the upper Missouri and a view of the Mandan settlements in North Dakota prior to the devastating smallpox epidemic of 1837. Howes C-303.
