1870 1870. F. Bronze plaque, 20 cm diameter with a relief portrait of Charles Dickens with a small hanging hook soldered to the rear. Signed A L Vago and dated 1870. Ambrose Louis Vago (14 Apr 1839 - 7 Jul 1896) was born in London, the son of Ambrose Vago (1803-1860) a figure maker and artist. Ambrose Louis Vago worked as a modeller and phrenologist, publishing a number of texts on phrenology. A good quality finely rendered image.
