The entertaining story of an Irishman in the British Army during the Peninsular War written with humor but showing the darker side of war. Red cloth binding with gilt titles and borders on spine. Spine and gilt faded, small hole at top of spine, some spotting of cover, a little edge wear, corners and spine ends bumped, dark stain at top corner of back cover, hinges weak, small book plate on front fixed end paper, pencil mark on front free end paper which is split at hinge, frontispiece tissue intact, interior pages lightly tanned, binding otherwise tight.
