The text and illustrations are fine, clean and bright throughout and look unread. Publishers decorative green cloth which has dark blue illustration to the front board and spine. Gilt lettering to the spine. Decorative light blue and white floral endpapers with ship and swan designs. There are a couple of small closed tears to the spine and the cloth is a bit rubbed and bumped and has a few small marks but is generally in very good condition with the gilt on the spine still quite bright. With a piece of paper mounted onto the half title which has been Signed by Roald Dahl. The piece has been cut from another book of Dahl's as a list of his other titles is visible through the paper when held up to light. Previous owners name, dated 1968, to the front paste down endpaper. A very good copy in the publishers deep red cloth with blind stamped title to the front board and publishers logo to the rear, spine lettered in gilt, which is just a little dulled. The top edge of the pages are the required dark brown. Some rubbing and bumping to the boards but generally still a nice tight copy. Mustard yellow endpapers. In the original 1st state dustwrapper, with no ISBN number, which has a couple of small creases to the top and bottom of spine but is overall very good indeed. The wrapper has been price clipped to the inner front panel but this is not an issue point for this wrapper. A very good copy of this classic with the added bonus of Dahl's bold signature mounted onto the half title page. ------- More images available on request.
