Published by the Newport Public Libraries Committee to celebrate The Festival of Britain 1951. Blue boards with bright gilt titling to the spine and the front board, which also has a bright gilt stamped crest. Very Good copy. No dust-jacket. BUT fading to the base colour blue on the spine and a third of the front cover/part spine, where it has been sitting on a shelf, unused, but obviously with a smaller book in front of it to account for the 'sunning' - but all titling clear and bright. Small 4to. (xxi) + 54 pp. 4 full page b/w plates. Internally some light tanning to the free endpapers o/w fine. NO Inscriptions or Marks. In Latin and English. Contents include - 'Newport its History' ; 'The Borough of Newport at the Opening of the Nineteenth Century' ; ' Descent of the Lords of Gwynllwg' ; ' The Charter of Humphrey, Earl of Stafford' ; 'The Seal of Humphrey, Earl of Stafford' ; 'The Charter of King James 1st' ; The Great Seal of King James 1st', etc,. Overall apart from the light fading, a Very Good+ /Near Fine, Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy. Images available on request if Seller's image not shown here. ; Small 4to 9" - 11" Small 4to .
