Wells Gardner Darton & Co London 1913 Vg (clean grey decorative cloth, bevel-edged boards, spine with gilt title on black panel with gold/black decorations , front board with gilt titles on black panel and ornate gold/black decorations, also tipped on circular colour plate of boy playing horn watched by two black crows, and tipped on rectangular plate of children with copies of the magazine in two boxes labelled Chatter Box, both plates clean and bright and undamaged, 4.5" split to cloth at one side of spine, lower corners bumped, front and back hinges cracked and boards becoming loose but contents remaining firm, browning endpapers only, contents very clean white and bright with no foxing, all page edges gilt) quarto 412pp plus 8pp publisher's adverts. Chatterbox for 1913. Tissue-guarded colour frontis of scene aboard ship at sea, with captain addressing crew two of whom are holding bulldog by leash, illustrations include many full page plates all clean and bright, colour and b/w, internally in very good condition.
