About This Item

Olomouc: Moravian Chess Four volumes in the same series. Each is Hb, laminated covers, 288pp + Index, in VG to Fine condition; Vol. I has a small dent to spine. Facsimile reprints of the editions originally published in London/Glasgow from 1877-1880, as a monthly. They follow a similar format to the earlier series of The Chess Player's Chronicle : many games with notes, a " Chess Intelligence" section of chess news/events ( more detailed than before and which later changes to " Monthly record") , a problems section, endgames. This new series also has articles on openings, chess prose and poetry ( including a translation of a Latin chess poem !) and general articles.. Hard Cover. Very Good.
