Chi e Giacomo Lauri-Volpi

Chi e Giacomo Lauri-Volpi

Condition: See description

Milano: Edizioni "L'Attuale, 1932. Hardcover. 102p., glossy not-quite-alkaline paperstock with a dozen photoportraits (subject's roles, his family) and facsimiles (congrtulatory telegrams), the obligatory Mussolini mug, hardbound in half-cloth gilt over patterned paper, nice marbled endsheets. The casing yawns a little, the binderywork is so tight that some leaves bear light wrinkling, faint toning to text, toning to cover-paper, a clean sound unmarked copy. Collana Biografica dei Grandi Artisti Lirici Italiani. One portrait shows subject in air service uniform: "Capitano dei bombardieri," we may suppose Pagliacci has had Ethiopians in his bombsights.
