S. W. Straus & Co.. Good with no dust jacket. 1923. 1st Edition. Full-leather. Full leather boards with pictorial pastedown front panel in just good to perhaps very good condition, heavy wear to extremities and front board leather split and separated at spine and along bottom of front panel, hinges still firm, chipping at points, needs some tightening. This copy was presented to W. H. Finley, president of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company, and his name is etched in gilt on front panel. Finley descendant's address sticker on title page, else internally sound with no markings or tearing. Presentation letter and facsimile of letter from Mayor William E. Dever laid in. Promotional volume containing thirty pages of black-and-white illustrations and descriptions of Chicago architectural achievements, including Field Museum, Union Station, University of Chicago, etc. An uncommon Chicago item.
