The First UK printing published by J. Saville & Co., London 1922. The BOOK is in Very Good condition with the publisher's original yellow card covers, with the front cover design by Phyllis Chase. Some age related markings to the covers. with a tiny loss to the upper rear corner tip and the same to the last page. Very mild splitting fo the spine in places but the cover binding remains tight. Three penned inscriptions dated 1923-1947 to the dedication page. The staples have rusted and the central gathering of two pages has become detached from the staples. Internally some light dustiness to the page edges, light creasing in places and a few old markings on pages 10 and 13 (see images). The book is protected in an archival folder. The cover illustrated by her childhood friend and collaborator Phyllis Chase, it is a collection of 28 poems, and one of Blyton's most popular and best-known poetry books. A very scarce copy of this fragile production published in a small print run, the author's first published work, twenty years prior to the start of her iconic 'Famous Five' adventures.
